Arrests after man killed and bus driver badly hurt

Three men have been arrested after the driver of a car was killed and a bus driver was left with life-changing injuries following a crash in north-west London.

The Met Police said officers were called to Honeypot Lane in Stanmore late on Sunday night. The driver of the car, a 25-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The bus driver, a 44-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. A 51-year-old man was later arrested for the same offence. They all remain in custody.

Acting Det Insp Fiaz Janjua said the Met was working to "build a full picture of this incident".

The force said the next of kin of the man who died had been informed and were being supported by specialist officers.

The road remained closed at the junction of Cumberland Road in both directions on Monday.
