A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with terror offences.

Joshua Jones, of Buttercup Close, Stockton, on Teesside, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on four counts of possessing a document likely to be useful to someone committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

He was also charged with transmitting the contents of a terrorist publication electronically.

The case was sent to the Old Bailey for trial early next month and Jones was released on unconditional bail.

The charges followed an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing North East.
