M25 lane closures after biker injured in crash

Three lanes on a section of the M25 have reopened after they were shut following a crash involving a lorry, a car and motorbike that caused significant delays.

Surrey Police officers were called to the scene shortly after 08:15 BST on Wednesday, with National Highways saying the carriageway between junction 12 (Thorpe) and junction 13 (Staines) had fully reopened shortly after 10:40.

The agency added that the vehicles involved in the crash were moved to the hard shoulder to await recovery, and a fuel spillage had been successfully treated.

The motorcyclist, a woman in her 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said.

Earlier in the day, there were delays of more than an hour and congestion spanning six miles on the M25.

The other parties remained on scene assisting police with inquiries and no arrests were made, a Surrey Police spokesperson said.

The force is now appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident or captured footage on CCTV, dashcam or helmet cam footage.
