Body found in search of missing kayakers, police say
North Wales PoliceA body has been found following the search of two missing kayakers last seen in north Wales.
Connor Parfitt's body was discovered on a beach in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion, at around 12:30 BST on 26 July.
He was one of two men missing from Pwllheli in Gwynedd who were last seen on 21 July. Simon Wilson has not yet been found.
North Wales Police said Parfitt's family and the coroner had been informed.
Officers were continuing to support both families and the force was appealing for any information or sightings of Wilson.
North Wales PoliceParfitt and Wilson were last seen in the vicinity of the beach off Hafan Y Mor in Pwllheli, at 18:30 BST, who were believed to be heading to the beach with inflatable kayaks.
Ch Insp Stephen Pawson said: "My thoughts remain with both Connor and Simon's families at this incredibly difficult time.
"This is not the outcome any of us had hoped for, including the teams involved in the searches.
He thanked partner agencies, volunteers and members of the public who assisted in searches over the last six days.
