Hamad has been banned from driving for a year after police quickly caught up with him in February

Dashcam footage of an uninsured driver dangerously zig-zagging through traffic as he tried to evade capture has been released by police.

Ibrahim Hamad, 22, was spotted by officers in London Road, Earley, Berkshire, on 24 February, driving a BMW the wrong way down Suttons Park Avenue at about 13:05, narrowly missing a lorry, cars and a van.

Minutes later, after driving into a car park, he was arrested.

Hamad, from Swansea, admitted dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, having no insurance and failing to stop.

He was given a 30-week jail term, suspended for 12 months, and banned from driving for a year at Reading Magistrates' Court on 8 April.

Hamad must take an extended retest before he can drive again, complete 150 hours of unpaid work and pay a £187 victim surcharge and £85 in costs.
