Firefighters have tackled a large blaze which broke out on moorland.

Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service said a crew from Liskeard was sent out to Minions, on the edge of Bodmin Moor, just after midnight.

The service said due to the "high number of calls" it received, additional engines from Liskeard and Callington were sent to the scene.

A spokesperson said crews found a "large amount of gorse was well alight" and used beaters to extinguish the flames before monitoring for hotspots.
