Search for missing man along coast stood down
BBCA search for a man who is missing after getting into difficulty near a beach has been stood down.
HM Coastguard said it received reports at about 16:35 BST on Sunday of a man in the water at Greenaway Beach in Polzeath, Cornwall.
It said the Polzeath and Boscastle Coastguard Rescue Teams, a coastguard helicopter and RNLI lifeboats from Padstow and Rock were called to the scene along with Devon and Cornwall Police and paramedics.
Police said the man remained missing. The coastguard said on Monday the search had been "stood down pending further information".
A coastguard spokesperson added a second man reported to have gone into the water managed to get back to land safely by himself.
