A third person has been arrested in connection with an attack on three people in a park.

Emergency services were called to Apex Leisure and Wildlife Park in Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset at 06:15 BST on Wednesday to reports of someone with a serious laceration to the wrist.

When officers arrived, they found two more people with injuries, Avon and Somerset Police said.

A 30-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in the hours after the incident, while a 25-year-old man was detained on suspicion of the same offence on Thursday.

Police said one of the victims is still receiving hospital treatment, while the other two have been discharged to recover at home.

All three suspects have been released on conditional bail.

Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the attacks, adding that they believed it was an isolated incident and that all the individuals are known to each other.

High-visibility reassurance patrols are currently being carried out in the area.
