Man bailed after reported woodland path rape

A man who was arrested after a woman reported she was raped on a woodland path has been released on police bail.

Dorset Police said the woman, in her 40s, reported being attacked in Woodland Walk, in the Boscombe area of Bournemouth on Wednesday at about 21:00 BST. The man and woman had met a short time before.

The force said a man aged in his 60s from Bournemouth arrested on suspicion of rape had been bailed while inquiries continue.

Woodland Walk - a path that runs between the centre of Boscombe and the seafront - was cordoned off until Thursday afternoon.
