Firefighters tackle blaze in fourth floor tenement flat in Glasgow

Firefighters are tackling a blaze which took hold in a fourth floor tenement flat in the north of Glasgow.

Six fire engines and specialist resources were sent to Stonyhurst Street in Possilpark at about 16:50.

Pictures posted on social media show flames emerging from the roof of a building which was covered in scaffolding. NG Homes was in the process of refurbishing and upgrading a number of buildings on the street.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said firefighting efforts were ongoing.
