In pictures: Sun-soaked Isle of Wight Festival closes

The curtain came down on the Isle of Wight Festival on Sunday, with The Cure closing the sun‑soaked event.

More than 50,000 people attended the four-day sold-out festival held at Seaclose Park near Newport.

Among the other performers on the final day were Shed Seven, Rose Gray, David Gray, The Twilight Sad, Level 42 and Suzanne Vega.

First held between 1968 and 1970, the Isle of Wight Festival was revived in 2002.
