Man arrested over death of 82-year-old woman in Glasgow
Police ScotlandA man has been arrested in connection with the death of an 82-year-old woman found fatally injured in the street in Glasgow at the weekend.
Elizabeth Colligan was found in Cardowan Road in the city's Carntyne area at about 04:00 on Saturday morning and later died.
Police said a 30-year-old man, who BBC Scotland understands to be her grandson Grant McKinnon, was arrested in the Glasgow area, and that enquiries were ongoing.
Detectives had earlier issued a fresh appeal for sightings of McKinnon, saying they believed he had "vital information" about the death.
Pictures posted on social media show several police officers in the Cardowan Road area leading a man to a police van.

Elizabeth Colligan, a local lollipop lady known as Betty, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency services.
Friends and neighbours on Cardowan Road paid tribute to her earlier this week, describing her as a "nice wee lady".
