Major dance festival Terminal V to be held on banks of River Clyde

Electronic music festival Terminal V will be held on the banks of the River Clyde next year, as the event comes to Glasgow for the first time.

Organisers EE Live announced earlier this year it was moving from Edinburgh to Glasgow for the festival's 10th anniversary in 2027, but did not reveal details of where in the city it would be held.

Now Clydeside Live - a new dedicated open-air event space on the north bank of the river - has been confirmed as the location.

The festival will run from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 June and marks the dance event's first fully outdoor Scottish festival.

The new venue is intended to be able to host a varied programme of seasonal attractions and entertainment, including gigs, fan zones and sports events.

Organisers Derek Martin and Simon McGrath said the location would let them build the popular festival "from the ground up".

"The scale, the riverside setting and the industrial landscape around it feel completely aligned with Terminal V and give us the freedom to create something we simply couldn't have done before," they said.

"We've seen venues like Silverworks Island [in London] demonstrate just how exciting these large-scale outdoor inner city spaces can be for electronic music, and we believe Clydeside Live has the potential to become one of the most exciting new outdoor event destinations in the UK.

"For our 10th anniversary, we have the opportunity to build the festival from the ground up, rethink our stages and production for the setting and create an experience that feels distinctly Glasgow while still being unmistakably Terminal V."

Terminal V has expanded to include events beyond Scotland

After launching as a one-day event at Edinburgh's Royal Highland Centre in 2017, Terminal V has expanded to include events in London, Croatia and Australia.

Organisers say more than 30% of ticket sales come from outside Scotland and that previous editions have contributed more than £5m to the local economy.
