Medicinal cannabis products worth about £35,000 were stolen in what police believe was an armed robbery on the A34 near Newbury.

A delivery driver parked a Mercedes Sprinter van in a layby on the southbound stretch, near the East Ilsley Interchange, at about 21:40 GMT on Friday.

An offender assaulted the driver and threatened him with what is believed to be a firearm before stealing the products, including CBD oil, CBD pastilles and vape cartridges, before leaving.

Det Insp Jonny Hare, from Thames Valley Police, said anyone who saw anything along the A34 should contact officers online or by calling 101, quoting reference 43260568700.
