A woman has been left in a critical condition after reportedly being stabbed by two people in a street.

West Yorkshire Police said they were called to Topaz Close in Huddersfield at about 22:40 BST on Monday where they found the 30-year-old victim with serious leg and head injuries. She was taken to hospital and remains critically ill.

Police said they believe she was attacked by two people who then fled the scene on an e-bike.

Det Insp Sarah Bradley said an investigation was under way to try to find the suspects.

She added: "Whilst the investigation is at an early stage, we believe this incident was targeted and there is no wider threat to the public.

"I would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the suspects on an e-bike prior to the stabbing to come forward with information."
