An eight-year-old girl who posts about her love of food on social media has told of her pride at hosting two street food festivals that have raised more than £3,000 for charity.

Woo, from Northampton, held the free-to-enter Woo Fest 2.0 at Pitsford Quarry recently.

Known as "Woo_reviews" on social media, where she comments on the places she has visited and what she has eaten, she said she wanted the event to raise the profile of local vendors.

More than 550 people attended the second festival, and Woo said it would return "as long as everyone keeps supporting and wanting it".

"Lots of people come to support and it was a beautiful, hot day," she said.

"Watching everyone eat something from vendors I picked was fun and nervous."

Her favourite food she tried on the day was "probably my Waffle Wand, which was covered in Belgian chocolate, but The Courtyard Creperie was amazing, plus lots of people told me about the brisket fries and the pizza - it was all great".

Woo is keen to keep the festival going.

"I am really happy with the amount of people that came and the support they give," she said.

"All the vendors were great, and I appreciate the effort they put in.

"It means the world to me that we can put on Woo Fest. I'm only eight, [and] I am proud of myself and that we can do it."

She said the two events had raised about £3,000 for The Lewis Foundation.

Her dad, Lee, said: "We are always so in awe of Woo. She is the real driving force behind Woo Fest, and watching her interact with the vendors on the day is so great to see.

"The support that everyone gives Woo reminds us how amazing people can be."
