Man arrested after sexual assault on teenage girl in Coatbridge

A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a teenage girl in Coatbridge last month.

The 17-year-old was approached by a man as she walked near Blair Road and Auldhame Street at about 01:00 on 27 June, before being attacked.

Det Insp Lorraine Wilson said the force was "continuing to engage with the local community to provide reassurance" after the assault, and thanked the public for their support.

Inquiries remain ongoing into the incident.
