A man has been convicted of manslaughter after a fatal house fire in Birmingham.

Daniel Gardner, 37, died in hospital after he was seriously injured in the blaze on Saxons Way, Highters Heath, on 19 September last year.

Stephen Dale, 47, of Cherrywood Road, Birmingham, was found guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on Monday where he was also convicted of arson.

Dale will be sentenced on 25 June.
