Flights impacted by air traffic control issue

Both Guernsey and Jersey airports are facing significant delays to services

Flights across the Channel Islands are facing delays after a technical issue with the UK's air traffic control systems.

Nats, which is responsible for the UK's air traffic control systems, said on X it had identified an issue with its flight processing system and that flights were still departing and airspace was open.

However, a number of arrivals from UK airports are significantly delayed.

Jersey Airport said services between the island and UK had been impacted by the issue and that passengers should check latest information with their airline. Guernsey Airport said it was also impacted and it would extend its opening hours if required.

Gatwick, which has lifeline links to both Guernsey and Jersey, said it was affected by the issue.

The disruption has caused Jersey Bulls FA Cup replay game against Burgess Hill Town FC to be postponed until at least Wednesday.

Flightradar24 reports Eurocontrol, which support European air space, expects normal air traffic levels from UK airports will resume at 21:00 BST.
