Woman airlifted to hospital after fall from mountain ridge

A woman has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a mountain ridge in the Highlands.

HM Coastguard said the woman had been injured in the fall and sent its search and rescue helicopter to the scene near Am Bodach, Kinlochleven, at about 18:15.

The woman was flown to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Her condition is not known.

Am Bodach is a steep mountain at about 1,032m (3,386ft) on the main ridge of the Mamores between Kinlochleven and Fort William.
