Taxi driver loses licence over London offences
Getty ImagesA taxi driver who did not declare he was convicted of multiple offences for illegally touting for work in London had his licence revoked by a Berkshire council.
The driver, who has not been named, was licensed by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) until a DBS check revealed the four convictions from October 2025.
The council said they were found to have committed offences in July 2025, which included accepting passengers in the capital despite not having a private hire operator licence. They were fined a total of £6,187.
RBWM said unlicensed drivers "deceive the public" and "completely undermine the licensing system".
