An investigation into historic sexual abuse at a former children's home has been launched by police.

A man has reported physical and sexual abuse by male staff members at Forhill House, on Lea End Lane, Alvechurch, Worcestershire, when he was a teenage boy.

The offences allegedly took place between 1970 and 1985, West Mercia Police said.

The force has asked anyone who lived at, or was involved with, the children's home in the 1970s or early 1980s to come forward.

Det Con Caitlin Allen said: "We commend the victim in coming forward, and we will carry out a full and thorough investigation to establish what happened.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the abuse or have information to assist with our enquiries to please get in touch.

"These people are now likely to be in their 50s or 60s. Please be assured that you will be supported."
