A man has admitted causing the death of a woman following a crash on the A15 near Sleaford.

The incident, involving two cars and a van, happened at Leasingham on 11 January 2024.

Hannah Curtis, 22, from Lincoln, died 16 days later in hospital and three others, including a young child, were injured.

On Thursday, Calum Drake, 22, of Stratton Strawless, Norfolk, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court, where he pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving.

According to Lincolnshire Police, a Citroen DS3 and a Kia Picanto collided head-on at about 15:45 GMT.

A third vehicle, an Iveco Daily van, then struck the Citroen.

Curtis, driving the Kia, died in hospital on 27 January 2024.

Prosecutor Jeremy Janes told the hearing Drake was driving a roadworthy vehicle within the speed limit but went on to the wrong side of the carriageway without explanation.

Judge Simon Hirst imposed an interim driving disqualification on Drake and adjourned the case for sentencing at the same court on 20 November.

He warned Drake he could still face a custodial sentence.

Drake was granted unconditional bail.
