Section of M2 to close for works after fatal crash
Simon Jones / BBCPart of the M2 will close overnight for emergency resurfacing after days of disruption following the death of a pedestrian in a crash.
Motorists faced disruption on Thursday as one eastbound lane between Chatham and Sittingbourne remained closed following the crash at about 21:00 GMT on Tuesday.
The whole eastbound carriageway between junctions three and five had closed for clear-up but one lane later reopened.
Kent Police said a man in his 50s had died after he was struck by several vehicles near Medway Services.
The London-bound carriageway of the motorway, which was previously closed between junctions five and four, reopened on Wednesday afternoon.
National Highways said the still-closed eastbound lane would remain closed for all of Thursday.
The whole carriageway would then be closed from 20:00 on Thursday until 05:00 on Friday.
It is understood that police investigation work at the site has concluded, but detectives said they wanted witnesses to the crash, including anyone with dashcam footage, to get in contact.
The man's next of kin has been informed, Kent Police added.
