Eleven roads closed after serious crash
BBCEleven roads have been closed in a part of Merseyside after a serious crash.
A car left the road and crashed into a lamp-post on Liverpool Road in Huyton just before 02:00 BST, Merseyside Police said.
A large police and emergency services presence is at the scene following the crash, which officers said involved a black Cupra.
The closures are in place on Shellingford Road, East Prescot Road, Liverpool Road, Somerset Road, Back Dovecot Place, Dovecot Place, Taurus Road, Turriff Road, Dinas Lane, Lordens Road and Fincham Road.
People have been asked to avoid the area.
Officers have appealed for witnesses and anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact the force.
Merseyside Police has not released any information about potential injuries to anyone who may have been involved in the crash.
