Man charged with rape in Belfast

The charges have been brought following an assault

A man, aged in his 40s has been charged with rape, false imprisonment, non-fatal strangulation and sexual assault.

This follows a report of a serious sexual assault in Belfast on Sunday.

He is expected to appear before to Belfast Magistrates' Court on Monday.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
