A man has died after being struck by a lorry at a road junction.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said police were called just after 10:00 BST on Thursday to a crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian at the junction of Leigh Road and Bournemouth Road in Eastleigh.

A 55-year-old man from the town died at the scene. Police said a 57-year-old man from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving. He has been released under investigation.

Police have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant video footage to get in touch.
