New charity trail running event coming to island

Trail runners of all abilities have been invited to take park in an inaugural fundraising run on Sunday.

The Maison des Landes Trail Run is a new community fundraising event set against the backdrop of St Ouen's coastline.

Participants can choose from three distances - 5km (3.1 miles), 10km (6.2 miles) and a 21km (13 miles) half marathon.

Charitable Trust Maison des Landes said the funds raised will go towards breaks for young Jersey adults with learning disabilities who are cared for at home by their families.

It added that the event aims to be welcoming and inclusive, and wants to appeal to people who may be new to trail running.
