A fire involving 33 hybrid cars sent thick black smoke into the air above Southampton Docks.

Multiple crews were called to a vehicle storage compound in West Bay Road at about 04:20 BST.

Firefighters used a ground monitor to tackle the blaze - a high-flow device for fighting large-scale fires - as well as jets and an aerial ladder platform.

Residents were advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to the smoke.
