Woman, 24, dies in three-car crash in Fife as driver taken to hospital
GoogleA 24-year-old woman has died in a three-car crash that took place in Fife in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident happened on the A92 near Luthrie at about 01:00 and involved a white Audi A3, a grey Volvo V40 and a white Honda HRV.
The woman who died was a passenger in the Audi. A 27-year-old man, who was driving that car, was taken to Ninewells hospital for treatment.
There were no other injuries. Police Scotland said investigations into the incident were ongoing.
The Scottish Fire Service (SFRS) extinguished one of the vehicles that was on fire.
A spokesperson said: "Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene, where crews extinguished a fire which had taken hold of one of the vehicles."
Sgt William Low said: "We are carrying out extensive inquiries to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
"Anyone who was driving around the time of the incident, and anyone with relevant dashcam footage which may assist is asked to contact police."
