People stabbed during large event at hotel

Three men have been arrested after reports that people were stabbed at an event at a hotel.

Essex Police said it was called to the venue in Stifford Clays Road in North Stifford, near Thurrock, at about midnight on Saturday.

A spokesperson said officers identified four people with injuries including "stab wounds" and about 100 people had been at the hotel at the time.

Two men, aged 24 and 25, both from Hackney in east London, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, while another man, 21, from Enfield in north London, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm without intent.

All three have been in custody.
