A guide to local elections in the South East
Millions of people will vote in the local elections on Thursday, including in Sussex, Surrey and Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Surrey is voting for councillors on two unitary authorities which will replace the county, district and borough councils from April 2027.
In Sussex, all 120 seats across the two county councils are being contested. There are also partial elections for district and borough councils in Adur, Worthing, Hastings and Crawley.
Kent, meanwhile, is largely taking a back seat this time after last year's county council elections. Only Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has any elections this year.
On BBC Radio Sussex between 09:00 and 10:00 BST on Wednesday, Danny Pike will be speaking to a candidate from each of the five main parties ahead of local elections on Thursday.
