Owen Trevallion posed as a woman while sending extensive messages of a sexual nature to young girls, say police

A man had been been jailed for six years after committing a number of offences inciting children into sexual activity.

Owen Trevallion, of Ailmar Close, Lowestoft, Suffolk, sent messages of a sexual nature to young girls requesting sexual or nude images, while posing as a woman.

Suffolk Police discovered the messages and indecent images of children on the 29-year-old's phones after he was arrested for breaching a sexual harm prevention order (SHPO).

He pleaded guilty to charges, including engaging in sexual communication with a child, at Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.

Trevallion was arrested in January having breached a SHPO that was in place until November 2030.

After both his phones were analysed and the messages and images discovered, officers established two young girls were the victims of his behaviour.

He also had various applications on his phone that were in breach of his SHPO, according to Suffolk Police.

Trevallion pleaded guilty to:

  • Two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child
  • Two counts of inciting two separate girls to engage in sexual activity
  • One count of threatening to share photographs or film of a person in an intimate state
  • Four counts of breaching a SHPO

Det Con Matt Fox said: "This is a pleasing sentence for a man who pretended to be a teenage girl to target children via social media for his own devious sexual pleasure.

"I would encourage parents to routinely monitor their child's access to social media and who they are communicating with online."

Suffolk Police force has issued guidance for parents to help their children stay safe online.
