Arrest made after teenager stabbed at Barry Island
Getty ImagesAn 18-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing which took place at Barry Island on Bank Holiday Monday.
An investigation was launched after a 17-year-old was stabbed in the leg, requiring hospital treatment.
South Wales Police said the teenager's injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Det Supt Lisa Gore said: "We have arrested a suspect and, at this stage, we are not looking for anybody else.
"We understand this has caused significant concern and we will have an increased presence in the area over the coming days to reassure people.
"I would like to thank those who have assisted our investigation so far."
The 18-year-old remains in police custody.
