One person injured after car destroyed in fire

A person has been injured after a car was destroyed in a fire in Shropshire.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Love Lane in Bridgnorth at about 17:20 BST on Sunday.

Crews discovered a second vehicle nearby was also beginning to be affected by the heat, with surrounding grass also alight and spreading, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said.

One of the vehicles' owners was injured and was given first aid before paramedics arrived at the scene, a spokesperson added.

Firefighters were called to Love Lane in Bridgnorth on Sunday

"With the second vehicle and a building in close proximity, it was important to get water on quickly," Bridgnorth Fire Station said in a post on Facebook.

"Following extinguishing the vehicle and grass, crews gained access to the building and ventilated the building as it was smoke logged."

West Midlands Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
