Mum in court charged with murdering baby daughter

A woman has appeared in court charged with the murder of her baby daughter in Essex.

The eight-month-old died on 13 July, with her death deemed to be suspicious following tests.

Francisca Nti, of Milwards, Harlow, was arrested on Monday and appeared before Chelmsford Magistrates' Court earlier.

The 36-year-old was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday.

Essex Police has asked for anyone with information to contact it via its website, or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
