Bottles of 'highly dangerous' cough syrup seized
Warwickshire PolicePolice have seized 26 bottles of "highly dangerous" cough syrup used as a recreational drug following a drugs search.
Officers stopped a vehicle in Leamington Spa on Sunday and arrested the driver on suspicion of driving while unfit through drink or drugs.
Bottles of promethazine codeine, an opioid cough syrup also known as Lean, were confiscated, along with £4,710 in cash, three mobile phones and suspected stolen Pokémon trading cards worth an estimated £2,000, Warwickshire Police said.
The driver was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply as was a passenger.
Additional searches at associated addresses also led to the recovery of a large quantity of cannabis, drug supply paraphernalia, a knuckle duster and an extendable baton, police said.
