Extreme heat alert as parts of Wales expected to hit 30C
Met OfficeAn extreme heat warning is in place for parts of south Wales next week as temperatures soar.
The Met Office issued the amber heat health alert with temperatures expected to rise above 30C (86F) and even reach the mid-30s in some areas from 01:00 BST on Monday until 23:59 on Tuesday.
Some urban locations may stay above 20C (68F) overnight, according to the weather service.
People are advised to avoid the midday sun and limit exercise, and stay hydrated, cool, and protected from the heat.
The warning said the hot weather could lead to widespread impact on people as well as infrastructure.
According to the Met Office, temperatures will start rising from Friday to around 25C (77F), with rain moving towards the west and a humid night is expected.
Saturday is expected to start cloudy with some rain, then turn brighter and fresher, reaching about 24C (75F).
Sunday is expected to become mostly dry, sunny, and increasingly hot and humid, the service added, before the amber weather warning comes into force on Monday.
