Police have been given more time to question two men arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man in east Belfast.

Nicholas Gordon, 51, known as Nicky, was attacked when a number of intruders entered an apartment building on the Holywood Road in the early morning of 12 May.

He was taken to hospital, but later died from his injuries.

Two men, aged 25 and 31, were arrested in Scotland on Monday and were returned to Northern Ireland for questioning.

On Wednesday night, police were granted a court extension of an additional 36 hours to question the 31-year-old man.

On Thursday morning, they were given the same extension to question the 25-year-old.

Two other people arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent to commit grievous bodily harm were released unconditionally on Tuesday.
