Nine arrested in immigration swoop at delivery firm
Home OfficeNine people working for a parcel delivery firm have been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
Immigration enforcement officers raided DPD depots in Basingstoke, Hampshire and Newbury, Berkshire on Thursday morning.
The Home Office said seven Indian nationals we arrested, along with one Ghanaian national and one Pakistani national. It said right-to-work checks were carried out on more than 100 individuals across both sites.
The nine people arrested have been placed on immigration bail, subject to conditions, while further inquiries take place. The Home Office said the operation was part of its "crack down on illegal working".
