A Victorian coach house which is falling into disrepair could be converted into a self-contained holiday let if plans are approved by a council.

The owners of Acre House on Savile Road, Hebden Bridge - which was built in 1869 - have applied to restore and convert the coach house on the property, which dates back to 1882.

The two-storey building is currently only used for storage and is deteriorating, with a partially collapsed roof and flooring, according to the application to Calderdale Council.

The application said: "The primary motive of the development is to conserve and restore the coach house and to protect it from further deterioration."

It said the house's external walls would be "wholly retained" with "the original door and window opening reinstated".

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, Acre House is not a listed building and it is not located within a Conservation Area.

Once restored, it could be used as self-contained accommodation by guests and for short-term holiday lets, according to the application.

The owners said the renovation would include an energy-saving thermal insulation retrofit.
