A road in Perth was closed while armed police helped execute a search warrant at a property.

South Methven Street was closed from about 09:00, with a number of police officers and dogs in attendance.

Five police cars and an armed response vehicle could be seen on the street.

Police said the incident was part of a pre-planned operation and a temporary road closure was in place for a short period of time as a precaution.

A spokesperson said: "There was no risk to the wider community and inquiries remain ongoing."
