Sophie Fawns is enjoying her first season in the Netball Super League with Manchester Thunder. She's just 22 years old, and one of Australia's rising stars in the sport, but it hasn't been an easy few years.
She lost her mum, Maureen, to Ovarian cancer in 2021 just as her career was taking off. She tells Sophia Hartley how her mum inspired her to pursue a professional career in the sport. She also explains why she wants to encourage others to talk about the disease and ultimately help save lives.
