A double from Matt Rush helped Boreham Wood to an away win at Halifax Town in the National League.

The visitors capitalised on an error from goalkeeper True Grant to edge ahead in the 45th minute, with Zak Brunt finding goalscorer Rush in front of an empty net.

Halifax wasted little time drawing level after the break, with Ben Tollitt atoning for a wasted opportunity seconds earlier with a neat shot in the 51st minute.

Abdul Abdulmalik, the subject of a reported £1m bid from Swedish side Djurgarden this summer, then put Boreham Wood back in control in the 68th minute, before Rush sealed victory for the home side in the 84th.
