Northampton and Swindon started the new League Two season by playing out a goalless draw at Sixfields.
The home side controlled the opening half-hour without creating anything in the way of clear-cut chances, although James Maxwell did see an effort blocked.
Some last-ditch defending denied Matty Warhurst from close range later in the half and Connor Evans almost forced home a corner, while Ollie Clarke blazed over from Swindon's best opening of the first 45.
It was the away side's turn to enjoy a bit of pressure at the start of the second half, but Northampton went close again when goalkeeper Connor Ripley clawed away Logan Briggs' shot.
Northampton almost snatched all three points in stoppage time when substitute Harvey Saunders got in behind the defence, only to drag his effort wide.
