Goals from Oisin Gallagher, Charlie Lakin and Kabongo Tshimanga earned Barnet a 3-1 opening-day win over Salford in League Two.
The trio struck to put the Bees in full control before Adebola Oluwo's last-minute consolation.
Barnet started on the front foot and Tom Knowles found the net following good play from Tshimanga, but the referee disallowed his effort.
The Bees broke the deadlock when Gallagher and Tshimanga combined well before the former fired into the roof of the net from close range for his first goal for the club.
Lakin doubled Barnet's lead in the 42nd minute after capitalising on a lapse in concentration from Salford's defence and slotting past goalkeeper Will Norris into the bottom-right corner.
Barnet goalkeeper Matthew Cox was called into action after the break to deny Kelly N'Mai before Kane Smith cleared Oluwo's header off the line.
The home side claimed their third goal in the 87th minute when Tshimanga's shot nestled into the net.
Salford finally responded when Oluwo met Joe Powell's cross and headed past Cox but the damage had long been done.
