Cambridge mounted a speedy comeback to beat Barnet in the Carabao Cup.

Barnet went ahead soon after half-time but the U's hit back through Ben Knight and Isaac Heath to lead only eight minutes later.

Nikola Tavares fired off target for Barnet following Charlie Lakin's free-kick on 14 minutes, while Knight shot tamely at Matthew Cox and then sent another attempt wastefully over for Cambridge.

Three minutes before the break home keeper Jake Eastwood was called on to make a good save with an outstretched leg to keep out Lakin's effort.

Barnet took the lead four minutes after half-time when Callum Perry and Kell Watts both made outstanding blocks on the line but their efforts proved in vain as Kabongo Tshimanga tucked the rebound away.

The lead lasted only three minutes, with Cambridge hitting back through Knight's deflected effort after a good move involving Perry and Glenn McConnell.

Louis Appere then provided a low centre which was beautifully flicked home by debutant Heath five minutes later.

A Tom Knowles free-kick was saved low by Eastwood, then Bees boss Dean Brennan was booked four minutes from time after complaining to referee Carl Brook.

Three minutes into injury time, Watts made another key block on the line to prevent an Idris Kanu equaliser.
