Please wait while photos are loading... Paul, Gail, John and Mike have been burning the candle at both ends this weekend to make sure the garden is finished in time. | The garden from above |
With the deadline of the official opening* on Thursday, the race is on to make sure the garden is tidy and full of plants. Mike and Paul have finally mangaged to get their mitts on some plants and get stuck in with the job of placing them in the ground. Both men love this aspect of gardening and it seems they have been working with bricks and slate and other unresponsive materials for far too long! Paul and Mike were assisted in the planting work by Eureka volunteers. Our hard-working brickie John has now completed all the fiddly bits of paving and, despite his perfectionist nature, seems satisfied with his work. Come back to the website soon to see photos from the opening celebrations! * Please note, due to the location of the garden, the opening is by invitation only. | Right: Mike finally gets his hands on some plants after weeks of bricks and slate... |

| Right: ... and here it is just being finished off. Looks easy? It's not. It took Paul and Mike many late nights to get this made. |

 | Left: After making the wall, the paved area was covered in a layer of slate dust. Paul and Mike had to borrow a power-washer to get rid of it. |
