This week, it's looking less like a garden and more like a building site. | Beware: woman at work |
While Paul and Gail were busy on BBC Radio Cumbria's Mid-Morning Show, Suzanne got stuck in making a mess with a mini-JCB. Gunn JCB Ltd have lent us this nifty little machine for a few weeks. Marketing manager Mark Schaefer came all the way from Altrincham to teach us how to use it. Listen to Mark Schaefer
In just a few hours, Suzanne and Mark made light work of trench digging that would have been back-breaking and time-consuming to do with a spade. Rumour has it, Suzanne was last seen heading for home in her new toy. Live from Walney Paul Braithwaite's radio programme came live from Barrow on Tuesday, with live broadcasts from Walney throughout the morning. Staff and pupils from the Special Needs department went on-air to talk about their involvement in the garden. As a result of the programme, listeners phoned in to donate materials or money - thanks very much! We need lots more volunteers. Just come and help for an hour if you can. Call Gail on 01228 474291 (or 07801 679757).
