Di deadline by di Independent National Electoral Commission (Inec) for political parties for Nigeria to conclude dia primary elections and submit di names of candidates wey go contest for di 2027 general elections, don pass.

Even though say di 2027 election timetable wey Inec release still be mata of ongoing court case, almost all di parties don finalise dia primaries and elect dia presidential candidates.

However, although party primaries don dey concluded, plenty issues still full ground for di various parties, so di question wey many pipo dey ask na what next for dis parties and dia candidates?

PDP - Goodluck Jonathan or Sandy Onor?

As tins be now, many of di opposition parties dey divided into two factions and dem announce two presidential candidates, so wetin be di way forward?

Di Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nigeria former ruling party wey comot from power in 2015, na di worst hit for di internal wahala wey don hit a good number of di parties for Nigeria.

Two presidential candidates don emerge from di two factions of di PDP, one led by dia national chairman Abdulrahman Mohammed wit di backing of di Minister of di Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

And di oda faction dey led by Tanimu Turaki wey bin dey elected for one of dia national convention, but di Supreme Court later declare dat convention illegal, including di election wey bring Turaki.

However, di two groups still dey claim say na dem be di legit pipo and dem announce two separate presidential candidates. Di Tanimu group say dem give dia presidential ticket to former President Goodluck Jonathan, while di Abdulrahman group say dia candidate na former Senator, Sandy Onor.

Jonathan imsef neva come out to clearly say im wan run for di presidency in 2027, but e neva also clearly reject am since di PDP faction dey mention im name.

On di oda hand, Onor don accept to contest and e tok say e go pursue im campaign wit evri seriousness.

Las las, na Inec go tok wich of dis two groups dey legit based on recent court judgements, or maybe di mata go still go back to court make di judiciary settle am.

ADC - Atiku or Ibe Kachikwu?

Di African Democratic Congress (ADC) wey be di joinbodi opposition movement for Nigeria, dey also face dia own in house division.

E get di group led by di ADC presidential candidate for 2023, Ibeh Kachikwu, wey tok say dem no gree wit di joinbodi process wey bring some political heavyweights into di party, and dis group, even though dem don carry di mata go court, dem also dey go ahead wit dia own parallel activities.

Di oda group, lead by former Senate President David Mark, na di proper coalition movement, wey also get oda big names.

For di David Mark faction, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar na di winner of di presidential primary election, and na im be di ticket holder ahead of 2027 general election.

On di oda side, di Kachikwu faction return am as dia candidate again, as dem vow say na dem be di authentic ADC.

As di leadership mata of di NDC still dey ongoing for court, e sure say na di judiciary go get di final say.

Labour Party - Ahanotu or Okereke?

Similar issue dey occur also for di Labour Party, wey bin mount beta opposition to President Bola Tinubu for di 2023 presidential election.

Di party still dey divided into two factions, despite say court bin don give clear judgement recognising Nenadi Usman as di authentic leader, but di former national chairman, Julius Abure, still dey claim say na im dey incharge.

Both factions don announce names of two different presidential aspirants; di Nenadi Usman group announce Chibuzo Okereke while di Abure faction announce Kennedy Ahanotu.

For now, no court case dey go on involving di leadership of di Labour Party, but wit dis new wahala, e sure say either Inec or di courts again go fix di issue.

SDP - Adebayo or Gabam?

Di Social Democratic Party (SDP) na one of di oldest among di current political parties for Nigeria.

Formed in 1990, di SDP and dia presidential candidate Moshood Abiola, na di acclaimed winner for di 1993 presidential canidate for Nigeria, even though di den Head of State Ibrahim Babangida later cancel dat election.

However, in recent times, di SDP don tear apart also sake of inside crisis, and ahead of di 2027 general election, di two factions of di SDP announce different presidential candidates.

One faction pick Adewole Adebayo as dia candidate while di oda faction led by Shehu Gabam, pick Abimbola Akeem Atanda as dia pesin.

Gabam dey. insist say na im be di legit SDP national chairman, despite say di Supreme Court bin give judgement wey tok say im claim no dey legal.

Inec own court mata

Even di electoral umpire Inec still get dia own court mata wey dem face, and di outcome of di case fit affect di timelines wey Inec don set for di electoral activities.

BBC News Pidgin bin report how di federal high court for Abuja bin nullify some of di timelines of di 2027 general election timetable wey Inec bin release, however di commission don carry di mata to di court of appeal.

E neva clear wen di appeal court go hear and determine di mata, but di judgement go certainly make am clear weda di coming election go hapun excatly as Inec bin don announce am, abi many timelines go change.

However, while di timetable mata still dey go on for court, political parties for now still dey abide by dat timetable.

According to di timetable, afta di party primaries suppose to finish by 30 May, di next activity na di submission of forms EC9, EC 9A, 9B, 9C, 9D and 9E.

Dis forms na im go contain di personal particulars of candidates, as well as di list of names of nominated candidates for each political party.

Parties get betwin 27 June to 8 August to submit dis forms for di different categories of aspirants, according to di office wey dem run for.

Afta di submission of dis forms, Inec go publish dem publicly betwin 1 August to 29 August, while election campaigns go commence from 19 August.
